14th October 2009 - Spectacular Sunset over Leicester
On the 12th October 2009 many of you may have seen the spectacular sunset that took place in the sky over Leicester.
As we are aware that many who live at ground level throughout the city would not have seen it to the extent that those of high who live in the 18 floor apartment building would have done, we have filmed and put excerpts from it only for you to enjoy.
We hope to bring you a slide show of it soon.
Click Here for video. 15th August 2009 - Great Gardens in St Peters

17th July 2009 - Menu system colouring
Our web designers have extended colouring into the new menu bar where the Resources and Contact sections were previously standard gray.
One of the frequent comments local residents and site visitors gave about their website was to add more colour.
After some thought and review we felt the navigation menu was an area where this might be done without putting so much colour on the page that competes with the images and other colour content.
15th July 2009 - Litter Louts Page Redesign
Our web designers have extended the recently modified Litter Louts page so it is now capable of containing unlimited numbers of images in the slide show.
Additionally, they have created slide down panels on that page that can tidily contain all the content relevant to the littering issue including our Anti littering campaign information.
9th July 2009 - Litter Louts Page Redesign

January 2009 New Navigation System
St Peters NM is commencing 3 months work upgrading the menu system.
The upgrade will involve applying a more modern system that not only looks better but that offers us new possibilities such as being able to add images to menu items We will be using the opportunity to reorganise the menu items, hopefully making it more intuitive.
Whilst this work is carried out, links to many pages may not resolve when clicked. We apologise for any inconvenience.

We discovered from the leicester mercury that they were running a Beat officer of the Year Award and decided to launch a lightening campaign in the remaining few days to collect nominations online and in our neighbourhood to get PC Carl Hefford Nominated.
We then discovered that PS Toby Day already had it covered and had put together a great nomination document for him which we have been permitted to show you all.
20th March 2008 - St Peters NM Summary Leaflet
We have produced and made available the St Peters NM summary document that looks back at the work we have done over the last 12 months and sets out our achievements.
We will be expecting to see a similar document in March 2009 produced by Leicester City Councils Labour administrations replacement to Neighbourhood Management in St Peters, the rather oddly named "Community Meetings" that sets out their achievements in this Neighbourhood for 2008 / 2009.
19th March 2008 - "Reloaded"... the Sequel
Litter Lout 2 Reloaded is now out and online. Her littering is just as bad and disgusting as ever.
18th March 2008 - Littering Education Posters Made available
Due to the total lack on any littering education from the direction of Leicester City Council in this neighbourhood in a decade or more we have stepped in and produced our own.
They are robust, no nonsense and too the point.
16th March 2008 - Litter in
The reason for our litter lout series of video's is underscored as we look the presence of litter in our neighbourhood in new images and video's (see image)
15th March 2008 - New Litter Lout 2 Video
In line with our policies to educate people who drop litter as well as using this site to try to identify those who do drop litter here in St Peters we have today released "Litter Lout 2" video.
Please download and use our new collection of Anti Littering Posters
10th March 2008 - LCC announce new closed bin policy so we look at this with a new slide show.
Must admit that many of us here in st peters are rather surprised at this one as we have spent a great deal of time trying to get Leicester city council to do something about the overflowing communal bins here in St Peters but to no avail.
The problem with overflowing bins adjacent the entrances to peoples homes and then moved onto prominent street corners on bin collection days with rubbish falling and blowing out of them across the neighbourhood has been worse than any of us here can recall.
As we have tried to get LCC to buy additional paladin bins and to ensure they have lids but without success on either score, we find this announcement most surprising as it surely now means they are going to get their house in order here first before they expect the rest of the city to ensure their bins are lidded and not over filled.
I challenge anyone to find a lidded communal bin in this neighbourhood.
Also it appears the reason behind this is to do with preventing fly tipping. Well now here is an odd thing because in St Peters it is Leicester City Councils on repairs department that is the worst and most consistent offender at leaving their rubbish outside our homes often for weeks at a time.

18th January 2008 - Slide Show Directory Page Uploaded
Our slideshow's are proving extremely popular. Our server logs indicate that many thousands of you have made one of many slide show pages on this site a starting point into this website by book marking it and revisiting or forwarding it on to interested colleagues, friends or family.
To assist you we have now created a page that lists all our slide shows so you may also bookmark this page and keep a watch out for new slideshow's as we produce them.

30th December 2007 - Video Work
Video files that were submitted for inclusion have been prepared. 3rd December 2007 - Graphic Design WorkNew graphic design work for what is called a "disjointed roll over" feature I am to apply to the home page if ever we see the repairs department leave its waste outside a building here again.
This is a multi image element that comprises various photographs of unsightly and often dangerously left materials outside the main entrances or on landings in this neighbourhood.
2nd December 2007 - Applying new Page Tab system to the home page.
It is important to us that our website avoid a "cluttered" appearance as mush as possible. Achieving this whilst keeping information accessible is often a juggling act that tests website design to its limits forcing us as website designers of this website to constantly find more and more creative and imaginative methods of presentation.
During the past month Webwordwizards.com, designers and managers of this website have developed out new "Page Tabs". They work exactly like tabs in a ring binder so everyone is automatically familiar with them.
We have used them on our "Emails from Residents" page as well as our home page.
On our Home page their use as enabled us to reduce scrolling height of the page to a quarter of what it was bringing all page content into immediate view of the visitor. (When using a recommended screen resolution of 1280 x 1024). We hope you like them as much as we do.
Note: If you are using 1024 x 768 or 800 x 600 on a 17 or 19 inch screen then you really need to seriously get your resolution adjusted as seeing the pixels is not giving you an optimum web browsing experience.
1st December 2007 - Emails from Residents Page
We have been getting many dozens of emails from residents and have decided to created a page on the website where we can publish their comments or questions if they have provided us with permission to do that.
It is our intention to invited and publish response to these emails and articles also so as to facilitate open debate and dialogue within the community where appropriate and advantageous for us to do so.
We encourage agencies and Leicester City Council department heads to make the "Emails from Residents" page a regular part of their day to day routine.
10th November 2007 - Environmental Action Day - Giving Something Back!
Home page now carries information and a reminder inviting residents, businesses and service delivery agencies such as the fire service, police, and employment service to participate in our forthcoming environmental action day on the 12th November 2007.
Many people and organisations make money and receive funding from delivering services into St Peters, and this is a way for all concerned to give something back to the neighbourhood over and above what is expected. "Going the extra mile"... so to speak.
9th November 2007 - Litter Lout 1 Slide Show
Created the Litter Lout 1 slide show. This is a 70 image slide show that shows this man blighting our neighbourhood without fear of consequence for himself or regard for those of us who live in St Peters.
8th November 2007 - Litter Lout 1 Article
We created article on "Litter Lout 1" on left side of home page. We entitled it this as we are sure that many other people will be caught on the st peters litter cams. The idea of using the website in this way is to address widespread littering behaviour of too many people in st peters.
It is our expectation that these articles will send a shockwave through the community that will concentrate minds making people think twice about where they throw or leave litter.

4th July 2007 - Delivery Plan Page Slideshow... Major Upgrade + Update
1) OK we got the message... the delivery plan document in the slideshow was not large enough to read in the slide show. To the 141 of you that emailed in to tell us that and all the rest of you who noticed this fact we apologies.
By way of explanation, I would say that the slide show we developed and rolled out on stpetersnm.com was never intended to contain documents. Our vision for it was only to contain photographs and graphics up to a width of 480 pixels.
Taking a WORD document converting it to PDF and then exporting the pages as images was a sort of "lets see what we can really do with this thing" sort of experiment. Good news is, that due to the 141 requests that poured into our inbox we have further developed and upgraded the slideshow system yet again and are now able to boast that it delivers fully readable documents.
2) Delivery plan has been updated also to include further detail.
3rd July 2007 - Highfields Centre Updates
Still waiting for promised core content from the highfields centre but here are some updates for events at Moat HC are supporting.
10th June 2007 - Police Wanted section updated

Walk to commemorate slavery and its abolition. See here. Refugee Support 50th Anniversary events now listed
8th June 2007 - Transcribed Asfordby Street History
Today we have transcribed the Asfordby Street police and fire station history written by PC 925 Kip Philips (Ret)
It is our hope to be able to append this to the Police Area of this site.
At the moment there are no photographs for the page as we need to get permission and hold of the originals to scan and put online.
7th June 2007 - Bugs reported in slide show
We have had a dozen or so emails about minor bugs in our new slide show system. The worst of which is our slide show on the right hand side of the home page.
This particular glitch manifests itself when the user returns to the home page having previously visited it in the same session... usually via the "back" button. Until we can resolve this issue just use Ctrl + F5 which forces the web browser to totally reload the page.
Although its use is simple and intuitive, the slide show system uses some pretty sophisticated programming under the bonnet and so these sort of bugs in something as cutting edge and new as this is expected. We will however try to resolve them as quickly as possible.
Please continue to provide feedback as it enables use to improve this site continually.
5th June 2007 - Enhanced Slide Show System goes live
Hard on the heels of the launch of the slide show system in use now on the right hand side of our home page we have today launched an upgraded fully featured version. We have put it into immediate use giving a page by page presentation of the Draft Delivery Plan for Neighbourhood Management in St Peters. It will be used throughout the site and will replace the existing galleries in some places.
There is one other very significant feature to the slide show system that we have yet to develop and add which due to time constraints will follow later this summer - early autumn. But for now we will add one word... "AUDIO". ;o)
See the Delivery Plan Slide show live now here...
4th June 2007 - St Peters NM Slide Show System Unveiled
Well here it is our mystery feature we mentioned on this page on the 22nd May. It the slide show system now on how home page.
It will enable us to deliver a lot of content in a small area in bite sized chunks. This is important because as web developers one of our principle objectives is to avoid clutter at all costs.
It also helps us in making sure the site stays as comprehensive as possible without overwhelming the visitor.
We at Webwordwizards are very proud of the work we have done to achieve this as it enables us to ratchet up the power and content delivery of this website enormously. We believe web information technology should be interactive and engaging and that is exactly what we have achieved.
The feedback we have had is that the slide show currently on the homepage of this site is "smart", "Aesthetically pleasing to view and easy to control".
Well if you think the slide show system on the front page is good just wait till you see the enhanced version we are now engaged in developing for you now. We promise if we can make it do what we hope and are trying to do, that STPETERSNM.COM users and visitors are going to be in for a real treat.
Its important that this website is constantly changing, adapting and improving not only in content but in content delivery. It is our promise to the users of this site that that is precisely what we will do. Change, Adapt and Improve as hopefully this will drive exactly the same attributes in the community and neighbourhood this website represents.

2nd June 2007 - Draft Delivery Plan now online
We have been given the go ahead to publish the draft delivery plan (2.66MB) in full here. This has now been made available throughout this site for download. The draft delivery plan is nothing short of an epic piece of work that took Paresh Chandarana, Pushpa Patel and others many weeks to put together.
This is a very important document. The most important single document currently carried by this website because it is the proposed roadmap for the improvement of service delivery in st peters for the next decade and beyond.
It is therefore no exaggeration to say that its effects will be felt here by a generation and more effecting the lives and fortunes of many people in this community..
Please take time therefore to go through it and email your comments.
1st June 2007 - Mystery Feature Progress Report
The feature of which we mentioned on this page previously is still incomplete. There are a few bugs on it for viewers visiting this site on Apple Macs which we are trying to resolve. Will definitely release the feature on the home page this weekend. Many of you have emailed in and asked what it is... to those I say you will have to check back and see.
22nd May 2007 - Fame Academy enrolls new candidate
1) Today we went live on the article featuring the young lady we caught parking her car on the pavement. Parking cars on pavements is a significant issue in this neighbourhood. It is unlawful as well and dangerous and can impede emergency service access especially to fire hydrants.
2) We would also like to announce that webwordwizards have been working on an exciting new feature for this website. Can't say too much right now as the coding phase is going through a number of challenges and obstacles as yet that we hope to be able to resolve.
If we can then Stpetersnm.com will become an even more formidable and exciting community website project than what it already is. It is our expectation that we should be able to unveil this new feature this week.
20th May 2007 - Parental Monitoring Article
With the advent of the warmer weather youngsters are inevitably spending more time out doors and getting into and onto places where they ought not to be.
With St peters having it's fair share of railway infrastructure as well as buildings with surprisingly easily accessible roof spaces this is quite a topical article.
Sunday 20th May saw children running around on to of Leicester City Councils District heating facility here in st peters and monday saw them on top of Uplands School roof. So aside from asking the question as to why the school and leicester city council have not done a risk assessment on this we also questioned what on earth the parents are doing to monitor their children.
19th May 2007 - Meetings Page Updated
1) Meetings page updated with meeting documents for the following meetings.
- MINUTES OF COMMUNICATIONS GROUP - 11th April
- AGENDA OF COMMUNICATIONS GROUP - 14th May
- MINUTES OF MAIN BOARD MEETING - 21st March
2) Have moved the Police section to their own area to make it easily accessible at the following address. www.stpetersnm.com/police
Before this the same web page resources were located at the address www.stpersnm.com/neighbourhood_cs_your_police.html which no one would really have remembered or have been able to intuitively use.
17th May 2007 - Police pages updated
We have updated police section (Neighbourhood --> Community Safety --> Your Police ) of our website.
The police page now includes photo gallery and policing priority list.
13th May 2007 - "Where are we?" Page created...
We need to tell website visitors precisely where St Peters is. Remembering that this site does have a worldwide as well as national and local audience, we need to put St Peters in a geographical context they can understand and relate to.
The area designated for this on the website is "Where are we?" page.
12th May 2007 - Large Composite Image
Until the issues pages are created for all these items, we created a composite image that at least makes mention of the issues and flags them up to website visitors at least in summary form.
It is certainly our intention to "go to town" on many of this issues by devoting an entire page to each one with full high quality photo galleries.
11th May 2007 - Fresh graphics and photographs
Refreshed the Issue page for inconsiderate car parking. New photography carried out in Mensa Close.
Also changed right hand side of home page to use images only at the top to reduce the page height without losing articles from the home page.
5th May 2007 - Website Statistics for AprilClick here to view
30th April - Local Crime & Detection Statistics
Added crime
and detection stats to Police Page. The police page is accessible via NEIGHBOURHOOD --> COMMUNITY SAFETY --> YOUR POLICE.
29th April - Guided Tour Call Back Service Started
With in excess now of 1100 unique visitors per day from leicester NTL IP addresses and 40% of those repeat visitors for the same month it seemed a good idea to try to encourage dialogue and discussion about what we are doing here in St Peters Leicester.
The call back service is a person to person service where people either call in or ask us to call back with a view to discussing our work, website or both.
It seems a good way to promote the site, raise awareness of issues and our approach to dealing with those issues.
Fresh innovative approach.
Again, its yet another example of us being creative, imaginative and breaking new ground in using a fresh innovative approach to raising awareness of issues and in dealing with them.

3rd April 2007 - St Peters Fame Academy
Some of the issues in this neighbourhood will not diminish until examples are made of the people causing these problems.
It is felt that the best way to deter those involved in graffiti drug dealing, litter, fly tipping and criminal damage is to photograph them people doing it and post those photo's on this site for the whole neighbourhood and world to see in galleries we have dubbed St Peters Fame Academy. This will create a sense of social approbation as well as support the police and local authority by reporting and identifying offenders for prosecution and action.
Nothing else has ever worked. So we are putting this to the test.

27th March 2007
1) Created a new page for the "What's new" section formerly available on the front page." This was done in order to take some of the server load from web traffic visiting the front page brought there purely for the "what's new" information. This will ensure server speed on the front page is at optimum for each visitor.
2) Also created an environment section for content to do with the waste management process that would not have sat naturally in any of the existing menu areas. This will have the added benefit of allowing us to have a page dedicated exclusively to give advice and reminders on waste management procedure.
25th March 2007
1) Update on Small refuse issue.
2) With advice from Inspector Nick Glynn of Leicestershire Police we have gone ahead now with publishing the photographs of the cars inconsiderately parked with their number plates in plain view. If that advice changes we will of course review this. It is our hope that this builds social approbation against this practice and increases awareness of the dangers and issues surrounding it.
3) New issue page on fly tipping created.
4) Update on cleaning of external lobby area of apartment buildings. Maxfield House has had the exterior of the lobby steam cleaned to dramatic effect and improvement. It was a test to allow the contractor to produce a quote for all apartment buildings in st peters.
11th March 2007
1) We are aware of an issue in menu system. This issue which prevents the menu from functioning unless page content is fully loaded is by design. But some page images don't always load.
2) In order to speed up page loading times the Issue galleries were put entirely on their own respective pages. It is a better way to present them in any case as often there is 20 thumbnail images or more to queue for download and it was delaying the main articles.
