The way Leicester City Council allow this area to become wild and unmanaged sets the scene for certain residents to think it is acceptable to treat the area like this... as if it is of no value"
This bag of garden refuse dumped here by residents of either Polaris or Pluto Close which backs onto this private communal garden has sat here for over a year.

We pointed out on previous patch walks that these benches needs cleaning and varnishing and they still remain untreated. Did LCC think we were going to go away and forget about it?
The whole neighbourhood has communal garden areas like this that have been allowed to go into neglect and decline

Graham Woods refuted my claim that the green spaces are for the most part unmanaged and neglected... so I showed him this area behind polaris close and the weed covered areas to the left and right of the front of Maxfield House.

This bit looks good doesn't it?
Might be due to the fact that this was at the front of the new health centre in the Melbourne Centre in Melbourne Road. I showed this area to Graham Woods Head of Ground Maintenance at Leicester City Council as an example of what ought to be done with some of the green spaces in our neighbourhood

This is an example of many of the shrubberies throughout the neighbourhood where there is nothing but bare earth, weeds and debris.

One of the things I am asking LCC to do is to look at making a feature of the end of each maisonette terrace.
Where there are bare walls I suggested planting wisteria or a similar type of climber that would not damage the wall
This I feel would have a number of benefits other than actually making the area look more attractive, as it would in my opinion change and challenge perceptions about this neighbourhood. Create a sense that this area is managed and cared for and is therefore not anti social behaviour permissive.

St Peters is an area of primarily social housing in Leicester in the East Midlands of England.
Being a mainly residential faith area it incorporates a number of schools, health centres and business zones for small and light business.

With parking such a big issue in this neighbourhood a highlighting of the highway code will certainly save many people here money on penalty charges
